Based on recent Lands of America data, Wisconsin ranks eighth in the United States for the combined number of properties currently for sale in the state. By overall acreage of land for sale, Wisconsin ranks 23rd. Recent internal data lists about $5 billion in land and rural real estate for sale in the Cheese State. This covers a total of 338,725 acres of land for sale in Wisconsin. Of the 72 counties in Wisconsin, Vilas County had the most land and acreage for sale. There were 1,153 acres of sold land in Wisconsin recorded in December 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over data from the previous month.
